PUTRAJAYA, Aug 17 — Pakatan Harapan (PH) leadership will convene a high-level meeting in the near future to chart a course for accelerating institutional reforms and taking decisive action against major scandals, following clear mandates delivered during the recent PKR National Congress and DAP Party Conference.
PKR Information Chief and Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil highlighted that feedback from grassroots delegates across both coalition partners made it undeniably clear that the MADANI administration must hasten its reform trajectory while enforcing strict legal accountability.
“The message conveyed by the delegates at the Keadilan Congress and members at the DAP Conference was very clear that efforts to advance reforms must be accelerated and firm action must be taken, including on issues involving violations of the law and major scandals,” Fahmi told reporters following the Communications Ministry’s monthly assembly today. The event was also attended by Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching and Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Abdul Halim Hamzah.
Pointing to ongoing governance and anti-corruption audits, Fahmi noted that scrutiny over public agencies will continue to widen under executive direction and royal decree. “As the Prime Minister has said, it is not only Tabung Haji. Felda will be looked into next, as will any other agencies, as decreed by His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong,” he explained.
Furthermore, Fahmi expressed PKR’s deep appreciation to DAP after its delegates voted overwhelmingly to stay within the Federal Government under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s leadership through to the end of the current parliamentary term.
“I would like to thank the DAP leadership. Keadilan held its congress, and we did a lot of soul-searching; our friends in DAP also did the same,” Fahmi remarked, stressing that maintaining national political stability must remain the coalition’s overarching priority.
He reiterated Prime Minister Anwar’s key message from his winding-up speech at the 2026 PKR National Congress, emphasizing that all decisions and policies undertaken by coalition partners must be guided primarily by the interests of the public and the nation rather than partisan political motives.
The commitment to unity was reinforced at the 2026 DAP Party Conference held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), where a total of 1,857 delegates cast their votes in favor of remaining in the ruling Federal Government administration.
