GUA MUSANG, Sept 1 — Police have detained nine Bangladeshi nationals after they failed to produce valid passports or travel documents during a vehicle inspection along Jalan Kuala Lipis-Gua Musang yesterday.
Gua Musang District Police Chief Supt Sik Choon Foo stated that personnel from the Bertam police station intercepted a white Perodua Alza acting suspiciously at approximately 11:30 am. Subsequent inspections revealed that all nine passengers, aged between 20 and 30, could not present valid legal documentation proving their right to enter or remain in Malaysia.
“The police are currently conducting investigations to identify the immigration status of all the individuals concerned and investigate the involvement of other parties involved in the activities,” Sik said in a statement today.
Authorities are investigating the case under Section 55E, Section 6(1)(C), and Section 15(1)(C) of the Immigration Act 1959/63. Police are conducting further inquiries to establish the immigration status of all suspects and determine whether third-party syndicates were involved in facilitating their movement.
