Negeri Sembilan MB Seeks Audience With Tuanku Muhriz Amid State Crisis

SEREMBAN, Sept 29 – Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim sought an audience with the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, at Istana Hinggap on Tuesday morning.

Ismail’s official vehicle was observed entering the palace grounds at approximately 10:50 AM.

Prior to the Menteri Besar’s arrival, vehicles carrying key traditional rulers—the Undang Luak Sungei Ujong, Datuk Klana Petra Muhammad Faris Johari, and the Undang Luak Rembau, Datuk Sedia Raja Hassan Ab Hamid—were also seen arriving at the palace.

The high-level audience is understood to center on the administration of the state and the ongoing political and constitutional crisis in Negeri Sembilan. Media personnel had gathered outside Istana Hinggap from 10:00 AM to monitor developments.

The royal meeting follows Tuanku Muhriz’s decision to revoke the appointments of 10 members of the Negeri Sembilan State Executive Council (Exco) effective September 20, a decree officially gazetted on September 24.

The 10 revoked Exco members are Datuk Mohd Faizal Ramli, Datuk Zaifulbahri Idris, Datuk Mustapha Nagoor, Siow Kong Choon, Siti Nur Umaira Hasim, Datuk Mohd Asna Amin, Datuk Mohd Razi Mohd Ali, Suhaimizan Bizar, Mohd Fairuz Mohd Isa, and Datuk Razali Abu Samah.
