National Service Training Department to Send SMS Notifications for PLKN 3.0 Trainee Selection

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 9 — The National Service Training Department (JLKN) will officially use Short Message Service (SMS) notifications to inform selected candidates for the upcoming National Service Training Programme (PLKN 3.0) Series 4/2026, scheduled to run from October 3 to November 16.

JLKN Director-General Major General Datuk Marzuki Mokhtar said the SMS approach was implemented as an additional channel to ensure selection information is delivered faster, directly, and more reliably to prospective trainees.

“The SMS functions as a call to action by instructing candidates to check further via the ePLKN website to obtain complete information regarding reporting instructions, selection status, and the actions that need to be taken,” Marzuki said in a statement today.

“This approach takes into account past challenges when some candidates were unaware of their selection status or overlooked information regarding dates and reporting requirements, resulting in some candidates failing to attend as scheduled,” he explained.

Through the automated text alerts, candidates will receive notifications directly on their registered mobile devices, allowing JLKN to reach a large pool of trainees simultaneously without depending solely on media coverage or requiring candidates to constantly refresh the portal.

Prospective trainees for Series 4/2026, particularly those born in 2008, can officially check their selection status on the ePLKN 3.0 portal at https://plkn.mod.gov.my starting from 11:00 am tomorrow. To facilitate administrative preparation and registration, selected individuals must confirm their participation through the ePLKN 3.0 system no later than September 18.

In expanding training capacity for this series, JLKN plans to operate eight National Service Training Branch (CLKN) camps.

“JLKN also plans to operate eight National Service Training Branch (CLKN) camps for the implementation of PLKN 3.0 for series 4/2026, involving three camps currently in operation, namely Camp 504 Bukit Keteri, Perlis; Camp 505 Pekan, Pahang; and Camp 515 Kuala Lumpur,” Marzuki stated.

“Meanwhile, five new camps are expected to open in the same series, namely Camp 503 Hutan Melintang, Perak; Camp 506 Sungai Durian, Kelantan; Camp 513 Bukit Pinang, Kedah; as well as two other camps involving training centers with Public Training Institute (ILA) status in Sungai Petani, Kedah, and Tuaran, Sabah, which will be used as alternative camps to increase training capacity,” he added.

Marzuki highlighted that leveraging Public Training Institute (ILA) facilities demonstrates strategic inter-agency cooperation to advance the national service agenda, enabling more Malaysian youths to participate in phases throughout the year. He noted that while JLKN aims to ultimately develop 13 CLKN camps nationwide, utilizing alternative venues helps meet intake targets while permanent facilities undergo ongoing upgrades.
