Melaka Police to Mobilise 3,150 Personnel for Upcoming State Election

AYER KEROH, Sept 23 – Melaka police will deploy 3,150 personnel, including 1,500 reinforcements from outside the state, to ensure safety and public order throughout the upcoming state election.

Melaka Police Chief Datuk Dzulkhairi Mukhtar stated that early preparations began three months ago, encompassing simulation exercises, tactical training, and insights gained from recent elections held in other states.

The police are also drawing on the experiences of other states that have conducted elections,” Dzulkhairi said when met by reporters following a gathering for police retirees with Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh at Seri Bendahara.

Dzulkhairi highlighted that state police will collaborate closely with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to monitor digital platforms and social media throughout the campaigning period.

He issued a strict warning to the public against generating or sharing false content, defamatory claims, or sensitive issues involving the 3Rs (Religion, Race, and Royalty).

In a separate development, Dzulkhairi revealed that a formal proposal to establish a new Hang Tuah Jaya District Police Headquarters was submitted to Bukit Aman last year.

The proposal is currently under technical review by Bukit Aman’s Research and Development division to cater to the growing population and urban density across the Hang Tuah Jaya Municipal Council area, which spans parts of the Melaka Tengah, Alor Gajah, and Jasin districts.
