TAMPIN, Sept 28 – A married couple was killed and their four-year-old son injured following a two-vehicle collision on Jalan Gemencheh in Tampin on Monday morning.
Tampin District Police Chief Supt Amiruddien Sariman said the incident occurred at around 10:55 AM involving a Proton Wira and a Perodua Bezza.
The 26-year-old woman, who was traveling as the front passenger in the Proton Wira, died at the scene from her injuries. Her 27-year-old husband, who was driving the vehicle, was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to the Gemencheh Health Clinic.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the couple’s Proton Wira was traveling from Gemencheh toward Bukit Rokan when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car veered into the opposing lane and collided with an oncoming Perodua Bezza heading toward Gemencheh.
The couple’s four-year-old son sustained injuries during the crash and was rushed to Tampin Hospital for medical treatment.
The bodies of both victims were transferred to the Forensic Unit at Tampin Hospital for post-mortem examinations to confirm the official cause of death.
Amiruddien urged any members of the public with information regarding the crash to contact the traffic police division at the Tampin District Police Headquarters (IPD) at 06-4412502 or reach out directly to the investigating officer, Inspector Imanul Hassan Mohamad Shah.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving resulting in death.
