Bogor, West Java, Nov 10 — Indonesia and Malaysia have agreed to introduce a travel corridor between them on a gradual basis, starting with key areas like capital cities and the holiday island of Bali, said the leaders of both the countries.
Speaking in Indonesia on his first official visit overseas, Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob also said Malaysia would grant an amnesty to Indonesian migrants working in the country on expired permits.
Ismail Sabri Yaakob is on a three-day visit to Indonesia, his inaugural overseas visit since being sworn in as PM.
Ismail Sabri met with his Indonesian counterpart President Joko Widodo, also popularly known as Jokowi, at Istana Bogor today, where both leaders are expected to discuss bilateral cooperation on a broad range of areas, including travel corridor arrangement, education, maritime, trade, and investment as well as customs matters.
