KUALA LUMPUR, August 19 — The track record of the MADANI Government under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in securing high-value investments, stabilizing the economy, and strengthening the ringgit provides a compelling case for voters to grant the administration a second term, according to a senior political aide.
Datuk Azman Abidin, Political Secretary to the Prime Minister, stated that the government’s economic turnarounds have earned widespread recognition across multiple sectors, illustrating Anwar’s leadership capacity and administrative capability.
“If we look at its performance, no one can deny the Prime Minister’s performance and capabilities. We can see that in terms of investment, the economy and the currency, all of these have been acknowledged and recognised by all quarters,” Azman said.
He made the remarks after officiating the STEM Exploration 2.0 ‘Unearthing Young Scientific Talent’ programme, organized by the Department of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine under Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia’s (UKM) Faculty of Medicine today.
Azman was responding to recent observations by political analysts who noted that the MADANI administration has delivered measurable results and should be afforded the continuity needed to execute its long-term reform and governance agenda.
Highlighting upcoming policy milestones, Azman revealed that the administration will introduce several strategic initiatives and announcements ahead of the National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations, alongside the upcoming tabling of Budget 2027, to ensure economic dividends reach all segments of the population. Expressing trust in the electorate, he added that voters will evaluate the government’s overall performance judiciously when deciding at the next general election.
Speaking on youth development at the event, Azman emphasized the critical need to elevate Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education to ensure national competitiveness amidst rapid technological shifts.
“I hope STEM education will no longer be merely an elective, but will also be an essential element for the nation’s survival in facing the challenges of global technological advancement. Use this experience as a stepping stone and a source of inspiration to dream big. Statesmen and scientists are not made in a day, but begin with the first step – seeking knowledge, just as we are doing today,” he told participants.
The second edition of the STEM Exploration initiative brought together 200 Form Three students from Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, and Negeri Sembilan, featuring hands-on laboratory experiments, microbiology exercises, modules on the immune and circulatory systems, and demonstrations of 3D printing technology in medical applications. Azman called for the program to be expanded nationwide to foster scientific talent early.
