Bursa Malaysia mid-morning FBM KLCI 1622.51

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 15 – Bursa Malaysia’s benchmark index halted a four-day winning streak to close lower on Thursday, October 15, 2026, weighed down by profit-taking in selective heavyweights and reflecting broader losses across Asian and Wall Street stock markets.

The local market weakness mirrored international trends, following overnight declines in the US where the S&P 500 fell 1.1 per cent and the Nasdaq dropped 1.9 per cent. Regional indices also posted losses, led by a sharp 7.57 per cent decline in South Korea’s KOSPI and a 4.90 per cent drop in Japan’s Nikkei 225.

At 5:00 PM, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) slipped 4.02 points, or 0.24 per cent, to close at 1,623.70 compared with Wednesday’s close of 1,627.72.
