TuJu app glitches LLM Prosignal Fahmi Fadzil

PUTRAJAYA, Oct 23 – The Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) and system developer Prosignal Consortium Sdn Bhd have been asked to provide a detailed explanation regarding technical glitches and operational issues affecting the newly recommended domestic navigation application, TuJu.

Unity Government spokesperson and Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil stated during a post-Cabinet press conference in Putrajaya on Friday, October 23, 2026, that LLM has acknowledged user feedback and confirmed that system enhancements are currently under way.

“The explanation from LLM and Prosignal is crucial to addressing users’ concerns comprehensively, improving TuJu’s reliability and strengthening public confidence in the local navigation app,” Fahmi said.

The directive follows recent government statements encouraging the public to transition to local navigation alternatives amid growing data security concerns.

Security Context, Alternative Options, and Application Background

Key background details, official recommendations, and development timelines include:

  • Alternative Navigation Options: Fahmi encouraged members of the public to explore alternative navigation applications developed by both local and international software vendors while technical improvements to TuJu are carried out.
  • Avoidance of Waze: The Communications Minister reiterated that the public should avoid using the Waze application due to national security and data privacy risks highlighted by the National Security Council (MKN).
  • Executive Endorsement: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim previously recommended TuJu as a domestic alternative following concerns regarding foreign data transmission and Waze’s corporate ties to Israeli jurisdiction.
  • Development History: TuJu was developed by Prosignal Consortium Sdn Bhd under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) executed with LLM on May 26, 2022, and was officially launched to the public on November 26, 2025.
