KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 5 – The quality of RON95 fuel samples, solid waste management strategies, and regulatory enforcement against unlicensed foreign drivers are among the primary issues scheduled for parliamentary interpellation in the Dewan Rakyat on Thursday, November 5, 2026.
According to the official Order Paper on the Parliament portal, Member of Parliament Abdul Latiff Abdul Rahman (PN-Kuala Krai) will address the Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living during the Minister’s Question Time (MQT).
Abdul Latiff is seeking transparency on the analysis results of RON95 petrol samples collected across fuel depots and five states, alongside government mitigation plans to restore consumer confidence and details regarding compensation mechanisms for affected vehicle owners.
In the same session, Datuk Dr. Richard Rapu @ Aman Begri (GPS-Betong) will question the Ministry of Housing and Local Government on long-term management strategies for critical open dumpsites under rural local authorities (PBT). He is also seeking details on waste management plans for districts operating without Waste-to-Energy (WTE) facilities to curb daily municipal waste accumulation.
During the oral question-and-answer session, Dr. Siti Mastura Muhammad (PN-Kepala Batas) will ask the Transport Minister to outline enforcement mechanisms targeting foreign nationals driving without valid licenses, with specific focus on United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) cardholders and undocumented migrants.
Additional legislative interpellations on Thursday’s order paper include:
- Maritime Surveillance Capabilities: Datuk Seri Hasni Mohammad (BN-Simpang Renggam) will request progress updates from the Home Minister on early detection radar systems, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and satellite integration, as well as 24-hour surveillance coverage percentages and critical asset gaps within the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA).
- Haze Preparedness: Rodiyah Sapiee (GPS-Batang Sadong) will query the government’s operational readiness to manage potential transboundary haze episodes, given projections that the El Niño weather phenomenon may persist until mid-2027.
Following the question-and-answer session, the Dewan Rakyat will transition to the committee stage debate and ministerial replies for the Supply (Budget) Bill 2027 and the Motion on the 2027 Development Expenditure Estimates.
The committee stage debate and winding-up phase for Budget 2027 will run through November 26, 2026. The current parliamentary meeting is scheduled to sit for 37 days, concluding on December 8, 2026.
