IPOH, Oct 18 – DAP elected representatives who fail to satisfy stringent key performance indicators (KPIs) face the prospect of being dropped from candidate lists in upcoming elections, DAP Secretary-General Anthony Loke warned.
Speaking to reporters after officiating the 24th Perak DAP Annual Convention at the Ipoh Convention Centre (ICC) on Sunday, October 18, 2026, Loke emphasized that party leadership across all levels is actively monitoring elected representatives to enforce accountability.
He commended Perak DAP, led by state chairman Nga Kor Ming, for establishing detailed benchmark evaluations to guarantee robust constituent engagement and service quality.
“Our elected representatives work around the clock and, of course, if any of them are less active, we will ensure that changes are made. Through this system, we constantly remind them that unsatisfactory performance increases the likelihood of them not being nominated again,” Loke declared.
Performance Assessment Scope, State Practices, and Melaka Seat Negotiations
Loke, who also serves as Transport Minister, outlined the parameters of the internal review process while providing updates on Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) electoral readiness:
- Comprehensive Review Framework: The KPI evaluations assess public service delivery, active constituency groundwork, contributions toward strengthening local party divisions, and maintaining a consistent, accessible physical presence among voters.
- State-Level Performance Audits: While similar performance monitoring systems operate across DAP state chapters nationwide, Loke noted that Perak DAP enforces particularly strict standards to swiftly address service shortfalls.
- Melaka Seat Allocation Finalized: Turning to state election preparations, Loke confirmed that seat negotiation talks between Pakatan Harapan component parties at the Melaka state level have been successfully concluded ahead of nomination day.
- Key Election Dates: Following the dissolution of the Melaka State Legislative Assembly on September 23, the Election Commission scheduled nominations for October 31, early voting for November 10, and polling for November 14, 2026.
- Electoral Landscape: During the previous Melaka state election in 2021, Barisan Nasional (BN) captured 21 of the 28 seats, while Pakatan Harapan won five seats and Perikatan Nasional (PN) secured two.
DAP leadership maintains that enforceability of internal KPIs will ensure party machinery remains fully mobilized as election campaigns commence across Melaka and broader regions.
