Banting School Stabbing: Teenage Girl Charged Over Attempted Murder

BANTING, July 10 — A teenage girl accused of stabbing a fellow student at a secondary school in Banting arrived at the Telok Datok Magistrate’s Court today to face criminal charges under heavy police escort.

The juvenile suspect arrived at the court compound at 8:32 AM under tight security. She had previously been held under a four-day remand order beginning July 7, following an initial police investigation launched under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder. Members of the media who gathered at the court complex early this morning were strictly denied entry to the proceedings due to statutory legal protections surrounding underage defendants.

The court appearance follows recent investigative updates revealing that personal resentment harboured against a schoolmate is believed to have been the primary motive behind the violent stabbing of a Form Three female student in Kuala Langat on Monday.

Addressing public anxiety over the nature of the assault, Selangor Police Chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar clarified that preliminary investigations have ruled out systemic harassment. He noted that comprehensive interviews conducted with several individuals, including 10 students whose names appeared in a viral note circulated across digital communication networks, confirmed that the incident was entirely isolated and not linked to school bullying.

The Selangor Education Department previously released an official statement confirming the suspect’s immediate arrest by district police. The department added that the injured Form Three student was rushed to Banting Hospital, where she continues to receive medical treatment for her injuries.
