Anwar Hits Negeri Sembilan Campaign Trail to Boost PH Momentum

SEREMBAN, July 22 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is set to join the campaign trail in Negeri Sembilan today as Pakatan Harapan (PH) accelerates its election drive to retain control of the state government under caretaker Chief Minister Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.

Marking the fifth day of official campaigning, the PH chairman’s maiden election appearance in the state is expected to provide a major tactical boost to the coalition’s machinery and candidates across the board.

Anwar, who also serves as PKR president, is slated to participate in four high-profile campaign events spanning the Ampangan, Paroi, Sikamat, and Senawang constituencies today. His itinerary features community walkabouts, youth engagements, and a flagship PH mega ceramah (rally).

The Prime Minister will launch his campaign schedule at 4:00 PM with the ‘Santai Petang Bersama Warga Ampangan’ casual community session at Benteng @ Medan Selera Ampangan. He will then head to the Negeri Sembilan Youth and Sports Complex (KOMBES) in Paroi at 5:00 PM to participate in the ‘Jelajah Rakan Muda’ youth gathering.

Later in the evening, Anwar is scheduled to attend a unity dinner in the Sikamat constituency before capping off his tour by addressing voters at the Paroi PH mega ceramah at Pusat Bandar Senawang.

The Prime Minister’s active presence on the ground is anticipated to further fortify PH’s campaign narrative following the official launch of its election manifesto on Monday. The platform lays out 10 key commitments geared toward establishing Negeri Sembilan as a more economically vibrant, developed, and socially inclusive state.

In the 16th Negeri Sembilan State Election, Pakatan Harapan is mounting a comprehensive campaign by fielding candidates across all 36 state assembly seats. The seat distribution sees PKR contesting 16 constituencies, DAP defending 11 seats, and Amanah vying for nine seats.

According to the Election Commission (EC), early voting for police, military personnel, and election workers has been fixed for July 28, while ordinary polling day will take place on Aug 1.
