Anwar Assures Federal Unity Government Remains Solid Amid Negeri Sembilan State Polls Heat

SEREMBAN, July 22 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has reassured the nation that the Federal Unity Government remains robust and rock-solid, guaranteeing that ongoing state-level political contests will not undermine national economic momentum or deter foreign investor confidence.

Addressing a massive crowd at the Jelajah Kekal Harapan campaign rally in Senawang tonight, the Prime Minister emphasized that executive cooperation among coalition partners at the federal level remains exceptionally strong, as evidenced by the consistent and seamless execution of Cabinet meetings.

Anwar acknowledged that while political parties within the federal alliance are competing vigorously against one another in the 16th Negeri Sembilan State Election, the administration in Putrajaya remains entirely insulated from regional campaign friction.

“At the state level there might be issues, but at the Federal level, it is not threatened yet, and hopefully, Insha’Allah, it remains so after the elections,” Anwar declared.

The Prime Minister pointed out that top leaders representing diverse component parties continue to work in close harmony to drive national policies and safeguard economic stability.

“Recently, I chaired a Cabinet meeting with Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, Transport Minister Anthony Loke, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, and other leaders as usual. We must safeguard this stability so the country’s economy is not disrupted and investors continue to come,” he added.

High-profile coalition figures attending the mega rally included Mohamad Sabu, who serves as Amanah President, and Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP) Steven Sim, who is also DAP Deputy Secretary-General. Also present on stage were caretaker Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, Selangor Menteri Besar cum PH Election Director Datuk Amirudin Shari, alongside Pakatan Harapan candidates contesting in the state election.

Turning to state governance, Anwar, who is also Pakatan Harapan chairman, officially reaffirmed the coalition’s firm commitment to reappoint Aminuddin Harun as the Menteri Besar candidate should the electorate return the coalition to power on polling day.

The Prime Minister cited Aminuddin’s clean track record, personal integrity, and commitment to transparent public administration as the primary benchmarks for endorsing his continuation in office.

“Looking at the track record, sincerity, morals, and character, he is our best candidate for Menteri Besar. Negeri Sembilan is doing well, delivering on its promises. So, put an end to corrupt practices and make this state an example of good administration,” Anwar stated.

Pakatan Harapan is mounting a complete campaign by contesting all 36 state assembly seats across Negeri Sembilan. Under the coalition’s seat allocation arrangement, PKR is fielding 16 candidates, DAP is contesting 11 constituencies, and Amanah is vying for nine seats.

According to the timeline set by the Election Commission (EC), early voting for security personnel and election workers will take place on July 28, while the decisive polling day for the state election is set for August 1.
