KUALA LUMPUR, April 24 — Activist Fahmi Reza Mohd Zarin has been remanded for a day to facilitate police investigation into a social media posting deemed insulting to Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.
Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director Datuk Huzir Mohamed, in a statement today, said the remand order was obtained at the Dang Wangi police headquarters here where Fahmi Reza was detained.

Yesterday, Huzir said Fahmi Reza was arrested here by a CID team from Bukit Aman.
The arrest was made following a police report lodged against the account holder of Fahmi Reza’s Facebook regarding a posting involving Tunku Hajah Azizah.
He said investigations were being conducted by the Classified Crime Investigation Unit, D5, of Bukit Aman CID under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act 1948 and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
