
TUMPAT, Feb 8 — Basket cake entrepreneur Owi Kiu Chu, 64, showing two types of basket cakes packed with banana leaves sold at RM18 per kilogram and another wrapped in plastic sold at RM15 at her house in Kampung Kulim, Wakaf Bharu.
For the famous basket cake entrepreneur in Kampung Kulim, Wakaf Bharu, Owi Kiu Chu, 64, he said the cake recipe that has been traditionally made for five generations is their choice.
For the Chinese community, basket cake is one of the mandatory dishes at every Chinese New Year celebration.

Kiu Chu, said basket cakes that are traditionally made using Siamese glutinous rice mixed with sugar and steamed for 12 to 18 hours. Kiu Chu usually receives 2,000 orders but this year only received 500 orders.
