PETALING JAYA, Oct 30 – A total of 473 events across 43 sports have been officially finalized for the 34th SEA Games, which Malaysia will host in September 2027.

Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) Deputy President Datuk Nur Azmi Ahmad confirmed the decision following the third meeting of the Southeast Asian Games Federation (SEAGF) Executive Committee (2025–2027), held virtually with regional sports presidents and representatives on Friday, October 30, 2026.

“So far, so good regarding the response from member nations. I gave them the opportunity to ask questions, but they were very clear about the decision… there were no comments regarding the sports selected,” Nur Azmi told reporters in Petaling Jaya.

Among the 43 finalized sports, five disciplines were successfully added following appeals: padel, dancesport, teqball, ice hockey, and kabaddi.

Datuk Abdul Rashid Yaakub, Chief Executive Officer of the 2027 Malaysia SEA Games Organising Committee (MASOC) Secretariat, disclosed that padel will make its biennial Games debut within the Kuala Lumpur cluster, with six member nations already confirming their intent to participate. Dancesport events will be hosted in Sarawak.
