Police drug lab Johor RM18.2 million seizure

JOHOR BAHRU, Oct 16 – The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) uncovered a high-capacity illegal drug-processing laboratory and seized various illicit substances valued at RM18.2 million during dual raids conducted across Seri Alam and Johor Bahru South.

Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) Director Datuk Hussein Omar Khan announced the results of the intelligence-led operation during a press conference at the Johor Contingent Police Headquarters on Friday, October 16, 2026.

The operation, spearheaded by the Seri Alam District NCID, culminated in the arrest of two young men and a female teenager, aged between 17 and 22.

Officers raided a double-storey terrace house in Taman Megah Ria, Masai, which had been converted into an active clandestine drug production laboratory.

“Drugs seized in this raid included 101.64 kilograms (kg) of methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), 14 liters of liquid drugs, 122.14 grams of ecstasy powder, 7.56 grams of Erimin 5 pills, a forklift, various equipment, and precursors for processing drugs,” Hussein stated.

Dual Raids, Warehouse Seizures, and Judicial Proceedings

A subsequent raid on a connected storage warehouse revealed the true extent of the syndicate’s distribution operation:

  • Commercial Warehouse Seizure: A follow-up search at a shophouse along Jalan Permas—utilised as a storage hub—yielded an additional 106.84kg of MDMA, 14 liters of liquid MDMA, 23 liters of liquid cannabis, 122.14 grams of ecstasy powder, and 7.56 grams of Erimin 5 pills.
  • Industrial Scale Capability: Forensic analysis of the seized industrial machinery, forklift, and chemical precursor supplies indicated that the facility operated as a high-volume processing hub for domestic and export markets.
  • Syndicate Duration & Roles: Investigators revealed that the syndicate had been operating continuously since June of the previous year. The two male suspects acted as operational coordinators and chemical processors.
  • Role of Underage Suspect: Police confirmed that the 17-year-old female suspect is the girlfriend of one of the male coordinators; investigators continue to examine her involvement in the syndicate’s daily operations.
  • Court Prosecution: All three suspects were charged in court under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries mandatory death or life imprisonment upon conviction.

PDRM reiterated that narcotics enforcement teams will continue to target illicit chemical processing hubs, industrial storage sites, and international supply lines across Johor.
