Malaysian Karst Heritage Exhibition National Museum

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 1 – The Ministry of National Unity, through the Department of Museums Malaysia, is hosting the Malaysian Karst Heritage Exhibition at the National Museum to enhance public awareness about the preservation of caves and karst landscapes.

Running from Thursday, October 1, through December 31, 2026, the exhibition highlights the country’s geological structures, biodiversity, archaeological finds, and cultural history preserved across millions of years within rock formations.

National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang emphasized that caves and karst systems serve as crucial natural repositories of national history and biodiversity.

“The exhibition aims to raise public awareness of the importance of caves and karst areas as part of the country’s natural heritage, given their geological, biodiversity and archaeological value, while strengthening conservation efforts for the benefit of science, education, history, culture and tourism,” Aaron said in an official statement shared on his Facebook page.

Aaron noted that the government remains dedicated to transforming national museums into dynamic knowledge hubs to ensure Malaysia’s natural and historical legacy remains accessible to current and future generations.

He urged members of the public, families, and students to visit the three-month exhibition at the National Museum to explore the country’s prehistoric and geological origins.
