MACC Directs Former Tabung Haji Chairman Abdul Azeez and Family to Declare Assets Within a Month

MACC Abdul Azeez asset declare Tabung Haji

KAJANG, Sept 19 — The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has served a formal notice to former Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim and his family members, requiring them to declare their assets within one month.

MACC Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman confirmed that the notice was served this week under legal provisions to Abdul Azeez and his immediate family, including his children.

“Specific forms have been provided to them to declare and report their assets to MACC, and they have one month to complete the process,” Abd Halim said at a press conference today.

The asset declaration directive follows formal legal action against the former TH chairman, who was charged at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court on Sept 9 under Section 23 of the MACC Act.

Abd Halim noted that the enforcement action stems from broader anti-graft operations into the pilgrim fund’s past operations. The anti-corruption body has already charged six individuals over eight issues arising from its investigation into the findings of the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) into Tabung Haji, while five additional investigation papers remain active and ongoing.
