SHAH ALAM, Sept 18 — Police have confirmed the recovery of the body of a second missing angler off Hutan Melintang, Perak, bringing the total number of victims accounted for to six following a boating incident at One Fathom Bank near Pulau Ketam earlier this week.

North Klang district police chief ACP Ramsay Embol identified the deceased as 37-year-old Muhammad Ridzuan Ruhaizat, based on preliminary identification by family members using photographs and footwear worn by the victim.

Ramsay stated that the Search and Rescue (SAR) team was alerted by a local fishing vessel at approximately 4:26 pm yesterday regarding a body floating in Hutan Melintang waters. The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) vessel KM Nusa arrived at the scene at 5:05 pm to retrieve the body.

“The body was taken to Tengku Ampuan Jemaah Hospital (HTAJ) in Sabak Bernam and will be transferred to Sungai Buloh Hospital for a post-mortem examination,” Ramsay said in a statement today.

The discovery leaves six out of the seven original anglers accounted for—four found safe and two confirmed dead. On Tuesday, rescuers rescued four of the anglers alive in waters off Sekinchan before conveying them to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR) and Banting Hospital for medical evaluation. On Wednesday, police confirmed the recovery of the first deceased victim, 43-year-old Mohd Shahril Abd Rahman.

One remaining victim, identified as 49-year-old Raja Mohd Rozi Raja Mahamud, remains missing.

The joint SAR operation—comprising the Royal Malaysia Police, MMEA, Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), and Civil Defence Force (APM)—resumed its fourth day of searching at 7:00 am today after operations were suspended at 9:00 pm last night. Selangor MMEA originally launched the rescue mission at 3:35 am on Monday following initial reports of the missing party at One Fathom Bank.
