KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 31 — King Charles III and Queen Camilla have conveyed their congratulations to His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, and the people of Malaysia on the occasion of the nation’s National Day on Monday.

In a message shared by the British High Commission in Malaysia, King Charles expressed confidence that the UK-Malaysia Strategic Partnership would provide a valuable opportunity to deepen bilateral cooperation in trade, technology, and other shared priorities ahead of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2027.

He specifically cited their joint leadership of the international Forest, Agriculture and Commodity Trade Dialogue as a vital platform to foster action on the ground, advance sustainable commodity supply chains, and strengthen the resilience of farming communities, noting that smallholder farmers play a critical role in global food security across the Commonwealth.

Reflecting on the enduring partnership between the United Kingdom and Malaysia rooted in shared values and mutual respect, King Charles expressed pride in the Commonwealth’s role in fostering global understanding and opportunity.
