Teo Nie Ching Urges Voters to Renew PH Mandate for progressive reforms

SEREMBAN, July 19 — Pakatan Harapan (PH) should be given a fresh mandate to remain as the Negeri Sembilan state government to ensure the uninterrupted implementation of progressive reforms and fiscal policies introduced by the federal administration, DAP Women’s chief Teo Nie Ching declared tonight.

Teo highlighted that the federal government has recorded a robust series of governance achievements over the past three years. These milestones include stronger macroeconomic performance, structural reforms to the civil service pension scheme, and the targeted expansion of public educational opportunities.

Addressing attendees at a high-profile PH dinner, she pointed out that the country has successfully achieved record highs in total trade volume, tourism arrivals, capital market capitalization, and national foreign reserves. She described these developments as definitive evidence that the nation’s domestic economy remains on a highly positive trajectory despite persistent global economic uncertainties.

“Although there are still challenges, the message I want to convey is that Malaysia’s economy is progressing and moving forward. That is why we hope the people will continue to support PH and the Unity Government,” Teo said.

The political gathering saw strong institutional backing, with the attendance of top party leadership including DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke, DAP national chairman Gobind Singh Deo, and Negeri Sembilan DAP secretary Cha Kee Chin.

Teo, who is also the Member of Parliament for Kulai, drew specific attention to recent federal education equity initiatives. Chief among these is the historic guarantee of matriculation placements for all students who achieve 10As in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination, alongside prioritized admission into preferred public university courses for top-performing scholars.

While acknowledging that not every policy introduced over the past three years has been flawless, she stressed that the current administration has demonstrated a healthy willingness to actively listen to public feedback and systematically refine its executive execution where necessary.

Turning to the coalition’s broader political resilience, Teo asserted that DAP remains completely undeterred by its recent electoral setbacks in the Johor state election. She maintained that democratic defeats should consistently serve as an opportunity for strategic internal reflection rather than a reason for the party to compromise on its core principles.

She concluded by reaffirming that the party will continue rebuilding its grassroots machinery and pressing ahead with its legislative reform agenda, remaining committed to delivering a stronger, more resilient economy and a better future for all Malaysians.
