SEREMBAN, July 14 — The Ministry of Education (MOE) has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing national school infrastructure as part of a long-term strategic roadmap designed to guarantee equitable access to quality education for every student, regardless of their geographical location or socioeconomic background.
Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek emphasized that modern school development extends far beyond the construction of physical buildings and basic facilities. Instead, the ministry’s overarching focus centers on ensuring that educational access continuously evolves alongside rapid community shifts and urban growth.
According to Fadhlina, this holistic infrastructure approach serves as a core foundational pillar of the newly framed Malaysia Education Plan 2026-2035. The blueprint heavily stresses the provision of equal learning opportunities within a highly safe, premium environment optimized to cultivate each student’s full intellectual potential.
“The MADANI government will continue to strengthen the development of all types of schools in the country’s education system, including government-aided schools (SBK),” Fadhlina declared.
“Our responsibility is to ensure that every change opens up more opportunities and access for children to receive quality education,” she added during her keynote address at the official ground-breaking ceremony for the new Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (Tamil) Ladang Labu Division 4 campus today.
The high-profile ceremony was also attended by Negeri Sembilan State Education Director Khalidah Omar and Matrix Concepts Holdings Berhad Group Managing Director Kelvin Lee.
To support local population growth, the Negeri Sembilan State Government, in close coordination with Matrix Concepts Holdings Berhad and the School Governing Board (LPS), will construct the brand-new school campus at an estimated cost of RM9 million. The development will replace the existing, older facilities of SJK (T) Ladang Labu Division 4, which is being systematically relocated to a strategic site within the Malaysia Vision Valley (MVV) economic zone. The comprehensive project is slated for full completion by 2028.
Fadhlina detailed that the new school campus is situated on a sprawling 2.4-hectare (six-acre) plot located approximately one kilometer from its historical location, bringing it significantly closer to accelerating residential development zones to enhance public education logistics.
“The new school has a four-storey building equipped with 12 classrooms, 15 special rooms, two pre-school classes, a multipurpose hall, a canteen, a guardhouse and a school field,” the Education Minister specified.
Fadhlina noted that the incoming state-of-the-art facilities are specifically engineered to provide a highly conducive, complete learning ecosystem for both students and academic faculty, while simultaneously supporting the robust development of student knowledge, practical skills, and civic character.
The strategic relocation project underscores the federal administration’s active policy of ensuring that institutional educational support expands in parallel with real estate and economic growth, effectively preparing upcoming generations of young Malaysians to navigate the challenges of an increasingly dynamic global environment. First established in 1947, SJK (T) Ladang Labu Division 4 has served as a vital educational bedrock for the local community for nearly eight decades.
