Johor polls: DAP, Amanah opt for PH logo while PKR uses its own

Kuala Lumpur, Jan 26 — PKR will not be using the Pakatan Harapan (PH) logo at the upcoming state election in Johor said opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, adding that negotiations for all 56 state seats in the state have been finalized.

DAP and Amanah will however continue using the PH logo, coalition leaders announced today.

“Although there are differences in opinion over PKR’s request regarding the use of logos, the PH Presidential Council has agreed to respect its wish for the PH logo to be used, and for PKR to use its own logo for the Johor state election,” said the respective party leaders.

They added that Anwar would write to the Election Commission to ask that the authority over nomination letters for PH candidates be given to DAP’s Lim Guan Eng and Amanah’s Mohamad Sabu.

They also said PH would continue its talks on cooperation and seat allocation with all opposition parties including Muda.

“This will strengthen the competition by the opposition bloc in facing the polls in Johor,” they said.

PKR was recently dealt a double election blow with dismal losses in both the Sarawak and Melaka state polls.

It was completely wiped out in Sarawak, losing all 28 seats it contested in the Dec 18 polls.

Meanwhile, in Melaka, it lost all of the 11 seats in which it ran the month before, despite being allocated more than its partners Amanah and DAP, which won one and four seats respectively.
