KUALA LUMPUR, June 9  — Former Prasarana Malaysia Berhad chairman Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman has been issued with a RM1,500 compound for failing to wear a face mask during a press conference on May 25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dang Wangi police chief ACP Mohamad Zainal Abdullah, in a statement today,\u00a0said the compound notice was issued under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within Infected Local Areas)\u00a0Regulations 2021 as required\u00a0in the Movement Control Order (MCO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The RM1,500 compound will be issued in the near future, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mohamad Zainal also advised the public to continue to adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by the National Security Council (MKN) in combating the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently, the police had opened an investigation paper after videos of Tajuddin wearing a face shield but not a face mask at the press conference had gone viral on social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among individuals called to give statements pertaining to the case at the Dang Wangi police headquarters was Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman regarding his tweet on Tajuddin’s action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
