{"id":9802,"date":"2021-06-05T20:07:27","date_gmt":"2021-06-05T12:07:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/?p=9802"},"modified":"2021-06-05T20:07:29","modified_gmt":"2021-06-05T12:07:29","slug":"non-essential-service-employers-forcing-employees-to-be-present-at-workplace-liable-to-face-action-ismail-sabri","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/?p=9802","title":{"rendered":"Non-essential service employers forcing employees to be present at workplace liable to face action &#8211; Ismail Sabri"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR, June 5 &#8212; Employers who force their workers to be present at the workplace despite being non-essential services can be reported to the Human Resource Ministry (MHR) said Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said workers wearing the quarantine band should not&nbsp;be forced to be present at the workplace and such incidents can be reported to MHR hotline at&nbsp;03-88862409, 03-88862352 and&nbsp;03-88889111 for violating the standard operating procedure (SOP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWorkers are also told to report if employers infringe the 60 per cent capacity allowed. If those wearing pink band were ordered to work, I hope the cases would be reported to MHR so&nbsp;that action could be taken as&nbsp;all parties&nbsp;should cooperate to ensure there is&nbsp;no SOP violation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEmployers who force\u00a0their workers to\u00a0work should face action but I understand their workers have no choice as they could have been warned or\u00a0face\u00a0termination,\u201d he told a media conference after visiting a roadblock in\u00a0Jalan Ampang here today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Screen-Shot-2021-06-05-at-20.05.16.png\" alt=\"employers\" class=\"wp-image-9803\" width=\"525\" height=\"286\" srcset=\"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Screen-Shot-2021-06-05-at-20.05.16.png 581w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Screen-Shot-2021-06-05-at-20.05.16-300x164.png 300w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Screen-Shot-2021-06-05-at-20.05.16-183x100.png 183w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Screen-Shot-2021-06-05-at-20.05.16-350x191.png 350w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 525px) 100vw, 525px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Ismail Sabri however said there were cases when&nbsp;actions&nbsp;had been taken and the premises were&nbsp;ordered to close and&nbsp;issued compounds&nbsp;as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cInsyaAllah, if everybody cooperates on the matter (compliance to SOP) and total lockdown, we could together flatten the COVID-19 curve,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apart from that,&nbsp;Ismail Sabri said MKN also received many complaints on business premises and factories which are not categorised as essential services, operating during the total loackdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe received&nbsp;many complaints from the people including social media that such premises are open and operating despite being prohibited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs such, Prime Minister&nbsp;(Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin) has ordered for the&nbsp;tightening of enforcement\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ismail Sabri said members of the public could also&nbsp;lodge their complaints with the Malaysian Government Call Centre at&nbsp;03-80008000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also present at&nbsp;the event were Defence Ministry secretary-general&nbsp;Datuk Seri Muez Abd&nbsp;Aziz, Army chief &nbsp;Gen Tan Sri Zamrose&nbsp;Mohd Zain and Wangsa Maju police chief Supt Ashari&nbsp;Abu Samah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8212;
