KUALA LUMPUR, May 27 — Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Ant\u00f3nio Guterres, today held in-depth discussions on the issues of Myanmar and Palestine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Prime Minister\u2019s Office (PMO) in a statement said the discussion was\u00a0held after Antonio contacted Muhyiddin by telephone, which shows\u00a0UN\u2019s recognition\u00a0of\u00a0the important roles played by Malaysia in the issues of Myanmar and Palestine\u00a0at international level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn the discussion, both leaders stated their regrets and concerns on the security in Myanmar which have not shown any positive development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOn this issue, the Prime Minister said that Malaysia and other ASEAN countries held a meeting in April to find a solution on the conflict in Myanmar,\u201d said the statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apart from that, Muhyiddin also held the view that UN and ASEAN could cooperate in looking for a resolution to the political crisis in Myanmar especially through the Five-Point Consensus reached during the ASEAN Leaders\u2019 Conference.       <\/p>\n\n\n\n
