KUALA LUMPUR, May 2 — AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine slots for Kuala Lumpur and Selangor residents have been fully booked in just three hours and 20 minutes, after the registration opened at 12 noon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme Coordinating Minister Khairy Jamaluddin who has been sharing the update on the registration process via his Twitter account said those who had registered would received appointment details on their MySejahtera apps or SMS soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While\u00a0those who did not manage\u00a0to secure their slot could still put themselves on the\u00a0waiting list\u00a0via the same website at http:\/\/vaksincovid.gov.my<\/a>, he said\u00a0on Twitter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday, Khairy said\u00a0the AstraZeneca opt-in would be opened to 268,000 people initially on a first click, first-served basis in the website for KL and\u00a0Selangor residents and\u00a0the first\u00a0appointment for the vaccination slots\u00a0would be available\u00a0on\u00a0May 5 at\u00a0designated vaccination\u00a0centres (PPV).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PPVs include Universiti Malaya (UM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur, and IDCC Shah Alam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Khairy was also reported as saying that the Special Committee on COVID-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee (JKJAV) will roll out the same initiatives in other states pending further deliveries of AstraZeneca vaccine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He noted that the government was also scheduled to receive a million more doses of AstraZeneca vaccine this month via the COVID-19 Vaccines Global Access (COVAX<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
