KUALA LUMPUR, April 20\u00a0—\u00a0Permatang Pauh\u00a0member of Parliament\u00a0Nurul Izzah Anwar said that the decision on whether\u00a0she will defend her\u00a0seat in\u00a0the 15th General Election (GE15) will be made by the party\u00a0leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere is no decision yet.\u00a0I think we do need to abide by the decision of the party, discussions are ongoing, but I always go back to the issue of all being soldiers of the movement and the party.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the last general election, the former PKR vice-president retained the Permatang Pauh parliamentary seat for PKR by polling 35,534 votes to win by a majority of 15,668 votes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She beat Datuk Mohd Zaidi Mohd Said of Barisan Nasional (who secured 19,866 votes) and PAS candidate Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden (14,428 votes).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Permatang Pauh has been a PKR seat since 1999.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
