Raman said&nbsp;Microsoft, together with its local partner Enfrasys Solutions, has been appointed by the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU) to provide cloud services to the public sector agencies through 2023.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Microsoft will also partner with Censof Holdings, Silverlake Group&nbsp;and Web Bytes to accelerate digital transformation in the nation\u2019s key industries, including financial services, retail, food and beverage, as well as the public sector,&#8221; he said at the launch&nbsp;of the initiative by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin here today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Petronas\u00a0president and group chief executive officer (CEO) Tengku Muhammad Taufik Aziz said the partnership with Microsoft underlines the national oil company\u2019s\u00a0commitment to nurturing a sustainable pipeline of a future-ready workforce equipped to support Malaysia&#8217;s digital economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Screen-Shot-2021-04-19-at-15.54.28.png\" alt=\"microsoft\" class=\"wp-image-9179\" width=\"499\" height=\"273\" srcset=\"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Screen-Shot-2021-04-19-at-15.54.28.png 587w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Screen-Shot-2021-04-19-at-15.54.28-300x164.png 300w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Screen-Shot-2021-04-19-at-15.54.28-183x100.png 183w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Screen-Shot-2021-04-19-at-15.54.28-350x191.png 350w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 499px) 100vw, 499px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;As a progressive energy and solutions partner enriching lives for a sustainable future, continuous human capital development will be integral to our ability to operate and compete.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We look forward to accelerating efforts in upskilling local talents, with a view to creating an inclusive digital future for the benefit of both the people and the nation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Celcom&nbsp;Axiata CEO Idham Nawawi said in partnership with Microsoft, the telecommunication company (telco) will continue to serve its customers by offering secure and reliable cloud services, leading towards the development of a striving digital ecosystem and achieving the nation\u2019s digital aspirations in a way that is sustainable<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTelecommunications and technology sectors are key lifelines to the nation\u2019s digital economy. A world-class cloud service will become the epitome that shapes the future path in our pursuit towards becoming a digital economy powerhouse in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We highly applaud Microsoft\u2019s plans to establish its first datacentre&nbsp;region in Malaysia, providing access to secure, scalable, highly available, resilient and sustainable cloud services for the government, and across multiple industry verticals. As the anchor telco tenant, we look forward to bringing the benefit of this datacentre to our customers and partners,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the same initiative, which is worth about US$1 billion (US$1=RM4.13)&nbsp;over&nbsp;the next five years, Microsoft will establish its first datacentre&nbsp;region in Kuala Lumpur area and deliver access to the full Microsoft Cloud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The cloud consists of&nbsp;Microsoft Azure,&nbsp;Microsoft 365&nbsp;as well as Dynamics 365 and Power Platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Raman said the new datacentre&nbsp;region will also deliver Azure Availability Zones, providing additional resilience options for highly available applications, and&nbsp;support Microsoft\u2019s sustainability goals.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Microsoft has a global commitment to shift to 100 per cent supply of renewable energy by 2025. This means Microsoft will have power purchase agreements for green energy contracted for 100 per cent of carbon-emitting electricity consumed by all its datacentres, buildings, and campuses, including the planned Malaysia datacentre&nbsp;region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Microsoft will work with the government, startups and enterprises to support the country\u2019s digital transformation goals.
