{"id":9044,"date":"2021-04-09T12:03:24","date_gmt":"2021-04-09T04:03:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/?p=9044"},"modified":"2021-04-09T12:04:24","modified_gmt":"2021-04-09T04:04:24","slug":"kwap-funds-stolen-but-no-police-report-made-lawyer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/?p=9044","title":{"rendered":"KWAP Funds stolen, but no police report made &#8211; lawyer"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>PUTRAJAYA, April 9 &#8212; The Court of Appeal today was told that a major portion of the RM4 billion loan to SRC International Sdn Bhd by Retirement Fund Incorporated (KWAP) could have been stolen but yet no police report was made.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak\u2019s lawyer,&nbsp;Harvinderjit Singh submitted that the theft could have happened outside the corporate structure of SRC which was once a subsidiary of 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) and subsequently placed under the Finance Ministry Incorporated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said Najib was not an agent nor entrusted with RM42 million, which was said to be part of the RM4 billion, to dishonestly commit&nbsp;criminal breach of trust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To this, justice Datuk Vazeer Alam Mydin Meera, a member of the three-member bench asked&nbsp;how the SRC board made&nbsp;the decision on the RM4 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Screen-Shot-2021-04-09-at-12.01.40.png\" alt=\"kwap\" class=\"wp-image-9045\" width=\"479\" height=\"255\" srcset=\"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Screen-Shot-2021-04-09-at-12.01.40.png 592w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Screen-Shot-2021-04-09-at-12.01.40-300x160.png 300w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Screen-Shot-2021-04-09-at-12.01.40-187x100.png 187w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Screen-Shot-2021-04-09-at-12.01.40-350x187.png 350w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 479px) 100vw, 479px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Harvinderjit: The SRC board knew how the money came in but did not know how it went out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Harvinderjit was submitting before Justice Abdul Karim, who presided over the appeal with Justices Datuk Has Zanah Mehat and Vazeer Alam.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe RM3.8 billion was left \u2018outside the corporate structure of SRC\u2019 and the company directors did not know about it. It was a theft. During the cross-examination, SRC&#8217;s former chairman Tan Sri Ismee Ismail and former director Datuk Suboh Md Yassin did not know what happened to the money,\u201d said Harvinderjit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vazeer Alam: &nbsp;But no police report lodged?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Harvinderjit: No, the only person who could have made the report was Suboh but he did not know about the missing money.
