{"id":7886,"date":"2021-01-20T00:04:32","date_gmt":"2021-01-19T16:04:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/?p=7886"},"modified":"2021-01-20T00:04:33","modified_gmt":"2021-01-19T16:04:33","slug":"mco-2-0-less-impact-on-the-economy-tengku-zafrul","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/?p=7886","title":{"rendered":"MCO 2.0 less impact on the economy &#8211; Tengku Zafrul"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>PUTRAJAYA, Jan 19 &#8212; The government expects the country to lose RM600 million daily due to the latest Movement Control Order (MCO 2.0), compared to RM2.4 billion daily in March until&nbsp;May, 2020, said Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis MCO&nbsp;is unlike the one&nbsp;in March last year as&nbsp;five essential sectors are still open;&nbsp;small and medium enterprises (SMEs) such as stalls and stores&nbsp;can still be opened,\u201d&nbsp;he said in a media briefing on the Malaysian Economic and Rakyat&#8217;s Protection Assistance Package&nbsp;(PERMAI) here, today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The five essential sectors are\u00a0manufacturing, construction, services, trade, and distribution, as well as plantations and commodities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEven though these sectors are still operating, we cannot leave things to chance.
