RIYADH, Jan 9 — Saudi Arabia announced on Friday the lifting of travel restrictions from March 31, Xinhua news agency reported according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Interior Ministry also highlighted the decision includes fully lifting of the ban on all international flights and the reopening of all lands and sea ports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following that, Saudi Arabia\u00a0citizens are allowed to travel abroad and return to the Kingdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The delay of the lifting of restrictions that was supposed to take place this month was due to the COVID-19 outbreak and the spread of the new strain of the virus in some countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ministry also said that the decision was kept to the end of March, in order to get the required quantities of COVID-19 vaccines to cover the whole kingdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The opening-up steps were the result of the reduction of daily infections to below 200 cases.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
