KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 28 — The employee\u2019s share of the statutory contribution rate in the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) will be reduced to nine per cent from 11 per cent, next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a statement today, EPF said the new remittance structure only affect employees below 60 years old. The statutory contribution rate for employees aged 60 and above remains unchanged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new rates\u00a0will apply throughout 2021, affecting wages for the months of January 2021 (February 2021\u2019s\u00a0contribution) up to December 2021 (January 2022\u2019s contribution).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMembers who wish to maintain the contribution rate for employees at 11 per cent may fill in the \u2018Borang KWSP 17A (Khas 2021)\u2019, which will be made available on the EPF website (www.kwsp.gov.my) starting Dec 1, 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe completed form must then be submitted to their respective employers for online registration via i-Akaun (Employer), which will begin from Dec 14, 2020. Employers are also required to keep the form received for their record,\u201d EPF said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
