KUCHING, Oct 27 — Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) today called on all parties to heed the  decree and advice by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah to cease all forms of politicking that could disrupt the stability of the country’s administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GPS Chief Whip Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said His Majesty\u2019s decree was in line with the coalition\u2019s principle which consistently wanted all parties to stop the politicking and focus on the fight against COVID-19 and economic recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGPS hopes that all parties will abide by the decree and advice of His Majesty\u00a0who has always prioritized the people and the country, and acknowledges that\u00a0the current government has been handling the combat against COVID-19 pandemic well and effectively,\u201d\u00a0he said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said GPS expressed its gratitude to Al Sultan Abdullah and the wisdom of the Malay Rulers in convening a meeting last Sunday and coming up with the decision that there was no necessity to declare a state of emergency in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said Al Sultan Abdullah also expressed His Majesty\u2019s confidence in the government led by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to continue to implement policies and take enforcement actions to curb the spread of COVID-19 .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fadillah, who is Senior Minister and Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) senior vice-president, said the people should be made the priority by all politicians, regardless in any situation, especially in the wake of the current COVID-19 outbreak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGPS expresses its gratitude to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on His Majesty\u2019s decree on the importance of the 2021 Budget which will be tabled in the next parliamentary session in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides PBB, GPS, established in 2018, also consists of Sarawak United People\u2019s Party (SUPP), Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) and Parti Demokratik Progresif (PDP), which forms the state government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
