KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 26 — The issue of possible dissolution of Parliament was not discussed at today\u2019s special Cabinet meeting, said Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said this in response to allegations that he and his Cabinet colleagues would ask Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to seek an audience with Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah to propose the dissolution of Parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was neither raised nor discussed,\u201d he said when asked at a news conference on updates on the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) here today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday, there was a viral screenshot of a group chat allegedly showing Ismail Sabri telling UMNO division heads that he and other ministers would raise the subject of dissolution of Parliament today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This morning Muhyiddin chaired a special Cabinet meeting which lasted more than two hours at Perdana Putra in Putrajaya, following His Majesty\u2019s decision yesterday rejecting his request to declare a state of Emergency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ismail Sabri, who is also Defence Minister, said that previously there had been an issue of his statement on permission for Singaporeans to enter Malaysia being\u00a0amended by irresponsible parties to the extent\u00a0of creating confusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this regard, he urged the public to verify any news items they received.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said police would take stern action against any individuals caught misusing the work pass or letter of approval from their employer to go and work in the office during the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said these documents were meant to facilitate travel to the office for work and not for personal trips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe letter is not for personal use without valid reason, like going out on weekends. The police have agreed to create special lanes for workers with work pass or letter from their employers so that they would not be stuck in traffic congestion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFrontliners are also given special lanes. In fact, vehicles carrying goods related to manufacturing are also given special passage,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police were reported to have detected some individuals who abused letters of approval from their employers to make personal trips on weekends during the CMCO, which was implemented on Oct 14 in the Klang Valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
