KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 7 — Water supply has been restored to\u00a0811 locations or 62.7 per cent of the 1,292 areas affected by the unscheduled water disruption\u00a0in seven regions in the Klang Valley, as of 6.30pm\u00a0today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor)\u00a0Corporate Communications head,\u00a0Elina Baseri\u00a0in a statement, said\u00a0the remaining 481 areas were still in the process of being restored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kuala Selangor recorded the highest water supply resumption\u00a0at 99.2 percent, followed by Hulu Selangor (94.1 percent);\u00a0Gombak (66.4 percent);\u00a0Petaling (66.1 percent);\u00a0Kuala Langat (50 percent);\u00a0Kuala Lumpur (41.3 percent); and\u00a0Klang\/Shah Alam (24.2 percent).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cConsumers who have received their supply are urged to use it prudently to ensure the restoration process for the affected areas runs smoothly and according to the recovery plan schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAir Selangor assured that the quality of water supplied to consumers is safe and meets the standards of the Health Ministry,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Air Selangor denied a message that hs gone viral on social media sites that rationing exercise will be carried out and that the water is not safe for consumption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
