Malaysia began getting good news on COVID-19 yesterday, which was the 54th day of the Recovery Movement Control&nbsp; Order (RMCO) period, with the announcement of only one positive COVID-19 case recorded, from the increase in daily cases reported over the past few weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With that, many are hoping that there will be a zero COVID-19 positive case today, hence, giving us a&nbsp;&nbsp;brighter hope of ending the war against the invisible enemy and deadly pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/5c02971a151ffa014b627465ab777eac5f2524bb7b633-1024x558.jpg\" alt=\"covid\" class=\"wp-image-5363\" width=\"468\" height=\"255\" srcset=\"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/5c02971a151ffa014b627465ab777eac5f2524bb7b633-1024x558.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/5c02971a151ffa014b627465ab777eac5f2524bb7b633-300x164.jpg 300w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/5c02971a151ffa014b627465ab777eac5f2524bb7b633-768x419.jpg 768w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/5c02971a151ffa014b627465ab777eac5f2524bb7b633-183x100.jpg 183w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/5c02971a151ffa014b627465ab777eac5f2524bb7b633-350x191.jpg 350w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/5c02971a151ffa014b627465ab777eac5f2524bb7b633-800x436.jpg 800w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/5c02971a151ffa014b627465ab777eac5f2524bb7b633.jpg 1077w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The last time we reached the lowest number&nbsp;was on July 1, also with only one case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, it should be remembered that cases, such as the PUI Sivagangga Cluster in Kedah, which occurred due to failure to comply with home quarantine rules should be a lesson to all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With&nbsp;21 positive cases, closure of five schools and four sub-districts in Kubang Pasu and Padang Terap, involving 7,000 residents, placed under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO), it should be a lesson enough for those who took lightly the standard operating procedures (SOP) set by the government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hence, as usual, Health director-general Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah kept reminding those who have a history of close contact with the COVID-19 positive case to go to the health facility for screening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For those arriving in the country from abroad, they should and must undergo the quarantine period and then go&nbsp;for the second screening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Malaysians should continue&nbsp;to help reduce the number of COVID-19 cases in the country by practicing&nbsp;physical distancing, maintaining a high level of personal hygiene, especially to wash their hands often and&nbsp;avoid crowded places and speak at close range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The use of face masks in crowded public places is also important to curb the spread of COVID-19, for which no vaccine has yet to be found.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;&#8211;
