He said these were all from the Integrity\u00a0and Standard Compliance\u00a0Department\u00a0(JIPS) in Bukit Aman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/20d995fc216d7d709d4500c822e0a5c15f0892d43831d-1024x559.jpg\" alt=\"jips\" class=\"wp-image-5000\" width=\"483\" height=\"263\" srcset=\"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/20d995fc216d7d709d4500c822e0a5c15f0892d43831d-1024x559.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/20d995fc216d7d709d4500c822e0a5c15f0892d43831d-300x164.jpg 300w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/20d995fc216d7d709d4500c822e0a5c15f0892d43831d-768x419.jpg 768w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/20d995fc216d7d709d4500c822e0a5c15f0892d43831d-183x100.jpg 183w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/20d995fc216d7d709d4500c822e0a5c15f0892d43831d-350x191.jpg 350w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/20d995fc216d7d709d4500c822e0a5c15f0892d43831d-800x437.jpg 800w, https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/20d995fc216d7d709d4500c822e0a5c15f0892d43831d.jpg 1081w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 483px) 100vw, 483px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhen I approve them (the lower-ranked police officers) to be upgraded to detectives, they will qualify for an investigation allowance of&nbsp;RM300.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThere are not many of them who will be made detectives, and only 70 in Bukit Aman,\u201d he told Bernama&nbsp;in Bukit Aman&nbsp;here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Abdul Hamid&nbsp;said the RM300 investigation allowance was a motivation for them as their work involved investigating police officers or staff involved in misconduct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis includes police officers or staff who accept bribes, do not do their work, violate the law, are in cahoots with crimes,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Abdul Hamid&nbsp;said the 70 detectives in Bukit Aman&nbsp;will only go to the districts and contingents with many cases of police misconduct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a related development, Abdul Hamid&nbsp;said JIPS&nbsp;duties which were previously monitored and headed by lower-ranked police will be upgraded and monitored by police officers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI want to upgrade the head of JIPS at the district and contingent levels to the level of police officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAt present, in Sabah&nbsp;and Sarawak, the policemen are of Sergeant rank, how can a Sergeant monitor a police officer of ASP rank who has committed misconduct?
