KUALA LUMPUR,\u00a0June 30 —\u00a0Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today held a meeting with 10 top varsity leaders of the National Student Consultative Council (MPPK) from 2020\/2021 session of local institutions of higher learning to discuss efforts to empower university students as well as matters relating to their welfare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his Facebook posting, Muhyiddin said the meeting lasting about an hour was an opportunity to engage with the presidents of the\u00a0Students\u2019\u00a0Consultative Council\u00a0(MPP) from\u00a0Universiti Sains Malaysia,\u00a0Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia, Universiti Teknologi Mara, Universiti Malaysia Perlis, and\u00a0Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also present were the president\u00a0of International Islamic University Malaysia Student Union (IIUMSU) as well as the MPP presidents of University College of Technology Sarawak (UCTS), DRB HICOM University Of Automotive Malaysia (DRB-HICOM U) and\u00a0Help University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI listen to every detail on the agenda as well as initiatives and views raised. Some matters discussed could be put to the ministry or parties responsible for further action,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting held at Prime Minister\u2019s office was also attended by Higher Education Minister\u00a0Datuk Dr. Noraini\u00a0Ahmad and the ministry\u2019s deputy secretary-general (Management and Development),\u00a0Rosli Yaakob.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
