PUTRAJAYA, June 17 \u2014 Minister in the Prime Minister\u2019s Department Senator Datuk Zulkifli Mohamad said he intends to station a Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officer in his office to monitor for abuse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his speech marking the first 100 days in office, Datuk Zulkifli, who is in charge of Islamic affairs said he will also be embedding MACC officers at Lembaga Tabung Haji and the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am fully committed that my department and all agencies under it prioritizes integrity and accountability in Islamic administration. All administrative works under my department and its agencies must be transparent and professional,\u201d said the minister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that he will be requesting for experts from other government agencies to be assigned temporarily to his office for consultations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides MACC, Zulkifli also called on legal experts from the Attorney General\u2019s Chambers and auditors from the National Audit Department to assist in correcting any mistakes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commenting separately on the confusion among the public regarding his position as a minister now versus his prior position as Federal Territories Mufti, Zulkifli said the Yang Di Pertuan Agong has already appointed a new mufti to replace him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMy duties are now on policies and to ensure implementation at a national level,\u201d explained Zulkifli.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
