 Dr Noor Hisham"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"col-sm-12 col-md-12 col-lg-12 mt-4 px-sm-0 px-md-5 px-lg-15 text-dark text-justify\">\n<p>PUTRAJAYA, June 7 &#8211;\u00a0The Ministry of Health (MOH) will continue to monitor and ensure that standard operating procedures (SOPs) are adhered to, until the\u00a0Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) expires\u00a0on August 31.<\/p>\n<p>Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said checks would continue to be conducted\u00a0under Act 342 (Prevention and Control\u00a0of\u00a0Infectious\u00a0Diseases\u00a0Act)<em>\u00a0<\/em>so that action could be taken against those who fail to comply with the SOPs.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Strict compliance must go on as the virus is still lurking in the community and the possibility of infection still exists.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12 col-md-12 col-lg-12 mt-4 px-sm-0 px-md-5 px-lg-15 text-dark text-justify\">\n<p>&#8220;If after Aug 31, cases\u00a0remain to be at single or double digits,\u00a0MOH will consider lifting the country&#8217;s border controls,&#8221; he said at the daily press conference on COVID-19 development at the ministry, here today.<\/p>\n<p>He said one of the conditions to be considered before the border reopening was that, movement should only be limited to the green zones or low risk COVID-19 countries.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile,\u00a0Dr Noor Hisham is confident that Malaysia will be able to break the chain of COVID-19 transmission with rigorous public health control measures, without the need for vaccine.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12 col-md-12 col-lg-12 mt-4 px-sm-0 px-md-5 px-lg-15 text-dark text-justify\">\n<p>\u201cIf we could control the spread of\u00a0 SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) and MERS (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome) infection, by just following public health recommendations, then it is not impossible for us to break\u00a0the COVID-19 chain of infection without the use of vaccine,\u201c he said adding that this would be a better option.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;
