{"id":4016,"date":"2020-05-28T20:08:46","date_gmt":"2020-05-28T12:08:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/?p=4016"},"modified":"2020-05-28T23:11:29","modified_gmt":"2020-05-28T15:11:29","slug":"malaysia-records-10-new-covid-19-cases-lowest-since-mco-enforcement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/?p=4016","title":{"rendered":"Malaysia records 10 new COVID-19 cases, lowest since MCO enforcement"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"col-sm-12 col-md-12 col-lg-12 mt-4 px-sm-0 px-md-5 px-lg-15 text-dark text-justify\">\n<p>PUTRAJAYA, May 28 &#8211; Only 10 new\u00a0COVID-19 cases were recorded today, bringing the current cumulative total to 7,629 cases, Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said.<\/p>\n<p>This is the lowest daily case recorded since the\u00a0Movement Control Order (MCO) was enforced on March 18.<\/p>\n<p>Another good news is that there has been no fatality\u00a0recorded since last week, keeping the death toll at 115.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12 col-md-12 col-lg-12 mt-4 px-sm-0 px-md-5 px-lg-15 text-dark text-justify\">\n<p>He said another 86 cases had recovered and were discharged today, bringing the total number of recoveries to 6,169 cases or\u00a080.9 per cent of the positive cases.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As at noon today,\u00a0eight patients are being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), including four who require ventilator support,&#8221; he said at a daily COVID-19 media briefing here today.<\/p>\n<p>He said all the new cases were\u00a0local transmissions, of which\u00a0five cases were non-Malaysians, adding that there were no imported cases.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12 col-md-12 col-lg-12 mt-4 px-sm-0 px-md-5 px-lg-15 text-dark text-justify\">\n<p>Dr Noor Hisham said since the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) was implemented on\u00a0\u00a0May 4, transmission of\u00a0COVID-19 among the local population had been\u00a0decreasing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlmost a month since the CMCO implementation, the number of\u00a0 positive cases recorded from May 4 up to yesterday was 1,189 cases, of which\u00a022.7 per cent (270 cases)\u00a0involved Malaysians, while 77.3 per cent (919 cases) involved non-citizens, which included\u00a0383 foreigners at three Immigration Detention Depots.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe would not have achieved the\u00a0results\u00a0without public cooperation and\u00a0compliance of the government\u2019s\u00a0advice, recommendations and standard operating procedures (SOPs) as well as enforcement activities\u00a0by the various government agencies.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12 col-md-12 col-lg-12 mt-4 px-sm-0 px-md-5 px-lg-15 text-dark text-justify\">\n<p>\u201cAs such, MOH would like to thank and congratulate the related industries and the public for their willingness to bear the burden together with\u00a0the government, for the sake of\u00a0the community and the country.
