KOTA BHARU, May 11 – The\u00a0PAS leadership\u00a0in Kelantan today expressed unanimous\u00a0support for Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin despite\u00a0a\u00a0motion to hold a vote of no confidence against him will be tabled\u00a0at the upcoming sitting of the Dewan Rakyat.<\/p>\n

Its secretary Datuk Che Abdullah Mat Nawi said all PAS MPs in the state would stand firm behind Muhyiddin’s leadership and were confident that the people would continue to support the current government.<\/p>\n

\u201cThose who ignore\u00a0people’s interests and stand out for themselves in today\u2019s difficult times\u00a0will be rejected by the people.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cNot only in Kelantan but nationwide PAS unanimously supports Tan Sri Muhyiddin to ensure the stability of the government,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

On May 8,\u00a0Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof said he has accepted an application from former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir\u00a0Mohamad for a motion to be tabled in the Dewan Rakyat to determine that Muhyiddin\u00a0does not command the confidence of the majority of the house.<\/p>\n

Che Abdullah, who is also Deputy Agriculture and Food Industry Minister II, said PAS members and the leaders of the\u00a0Perikatan\u00a0Nasional\u00a0(PN)\u00a0would continue to support Muhyiddin.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIn the event of a vote of no confidence, I am sure the Prime Minister would garner\u00a0enough votes. The country is currently being hit by COVID-19 outbreak\u00a0and the government is trying to break the chain of the infection under the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO), so by right\u00a0the leaders should prioritise the well-being of the people.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey should be focusing on efforts to\u00a0alleviate\u00a0the difficulties faced by the people, economically and so on,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Che Abdullah who is also Tumpat MP, said Muhyiddin’s appointment as prime minister\u00a0by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong in accordance to the Federal Constitution should be respected by all quarters.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
