Datuk Asri Hamidin @ Hamidon has been appointed Treasury secretary-general, effective May 1.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Secretary to the Government Datuk Seri Mohd Zuki Ali said Asri\u00a0was\u00a0replacing\u00a0Tan Sri Ahmad Badri Mohd Zahir whose service contract had expired.<\/p>\n<p>Asri, 54,\u00a0holds\u00a0a Bachelor of Economics from Universiti Malaya and\u00a0a Master&#8217;s Degree\u00a0in Economics from the\u00a0Hiroshima University.<\/p>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12 col-md-12 col-lg-12 mt-4 px-sm-0 px-md-5 px-lg-15 text-dark text-justify\">\n<p>He has served in the public service for 26 years after\u00a0he joined as an assistant director at\u00a0the\u00a0Economic Planning Unit\u00a0of the\u00a0Prime Minister&#8217;s Department\u00a0on June 1, 1994.<\/p>\n<p>Mohd Zuki said\u00a0Asri possessed vast experience in the field of finance and strategic investment through his service career.<\/p>\n<p>He also held various positions in the Finance Ministry including\u00a0Treasury deputy secretary-general (Policy);\u00a0Government Investment Companies Division\u00a0secretary and\u00a0Investment, Minister of Finance Incorporated and Privatisation Division deputy secretary.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12 col-md-12 col-lg-12 mt-4 px-sm-0 px-md-5 px-lg-15 text-dark text-justify\">\n<div class=\"mx-auto mb-4\">\n<div id=\"jssor_1139614178137\" data-jssor-slider=\"1\">\n<div>\n<div data-scale-ratio=\"1\">\n<div data-u=\"slides\">\n<p>\u201cHopefully with this appointment, he will lead the Finance Ministry to continue\u00a0pursuing excellence\u00a0in country\u2019s financial and economic\u00a0management,\u201d Mohd Zuki said.<\/p>\n<p>Mohd Zuki\u00a0on\u00a0behalf of\u00a0the\u00a0government\u00a0expressed his appreciation\u00a0to Ahmad Badri for his contributions and service to the civil service and nation for more 31\u00a0years.<\/p>\n<p>-BERNAMA<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PUTRAJAYA, April\u00a030 &#8211;
