{"id":3662,"date":"2020-04-28T21:27:21","date_gmt":"2020-04-28T13:27:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/?p=3662"},"modified":"2020-04-28T21:27:21","modified_gmt":"2020-04-28T13:27:21","slug":"companies-already-permitted-to-operate-in-mco-to-resume-full-operations-as-malaysia-enters-recovery-phase","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newmalaysiatimes.com\/?p=3662","title":{"rendered":"Companies already permitted to operate in MCO to resume full operations as Malaysia enters recovery phase"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KUALA LUMPUR, April 28 &#8211; The government has allowed companies under the economic sectors which have been permitted to operate during the Movement Control Order (MCO) to resume full operations starting tomorrow as the country enters recovery phase in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>International Trade and Industry Minister\u00a0Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said however, the companies must adhere to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) which had been set according to\u00a0their respective sectors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFailure to comply with the SOP will result in the immediate revocation of the permission to operate and legal action will be taken,\u201d he said in a statement today.<\/p>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12 col-md-12 col-lg-12 mt-4 px-sm-0 px-md-5 px-lg-15 text-dark text-justify\">\n<p>Mohamed Azmin said companies which have been authorised to operate earlier do\u00a0not have to reapply for\u00a0the ministry\u2019s permission to operate.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12 col-md-12 col-lg-12 mt-4 px-sm-0 px-md-5 px-lg-15 text-dark text-justify\">\n<p>\u201cThis initiative will help to boost the recovery of the supply chain for products and services to meet\u00a0local and international demand, and will have a positive impact on the companies\u2019 revenues, especially for the\u00a0small and medium-sized enterprises.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile the government has eased up on the restrictions, the people and industry owners must adapt to the \u2018new normal\u2019 by ensuring social distancing at the workplace, maintaining good personal hygiene and complying with the health control guidelines,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Malaysia entering recovery phase<\/strong><\/h5>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12 col-md-12 col-lg-12 mt-4 px-sm-0 px-md-5 px-lg-15 text-dark text-justify\">\n<p>The economic sector is encouraged to return functioning as normal as the country is now entering the recovery phase, said Health director-general\u00a0Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.<\/p>\n<p>Nonetheless, he stressed that there conditions attached among them is the standard operating procedure (SOP) of the Health Ministry (MOH).<\/p>\n<p>He said among the SOP is screening of body temperature,\u00a0ensuring\u00a0sufficient space for workers and\u00a0no gathering allowed\u00a0while the practice of\u00a0social distancing as well as good hygiene such as frequent hand washing or use of sanitizer should\u00a0be adopted by all.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12 col-md-12 col-lg-12 mt-4 px-sm-0 px-md-5 px-lg-15 text-dark text-justify\">\n<p>\u201cThese are the new normals we want Malaysians to\u00a0practise and not just during the Movement Control Order (MCO) but after the MCO as well,\u201d he told the daily COVID-19 media conference here today.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are opening up in phases, priority is given to construction and big industries. Then we will open up the services sector slowly but surely,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12 col-md-12 col-lg-12 mt-4 px-sm-0 px-md-5 px-lg-15 text-dark text-justify\">\n<p>Elaborating further, Dr Noor Hisham said the World Health Organisation (WHO) had earlier declared the Public Health Emergency of International Concern, based on three factors namely death, infection and\u00a0economy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12 col-md-12 col-lg-12 mt-4 px-sm-0 px-md-5 px-lg-15 text-dark text-justify\">\n<p>&#8220;So we see Malaysia has the three factors. During the initial stage in the middle of April, we expected the cases to rise drastically. At that time, we are not sure if there is an exponential surge but it\u00a0did not happen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat week we were cautious in our action.
