KUALA LUMPUR, April 15 – China Global TV Network (CGTN) has listed Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah as one of the three world\u2019s top doctors \u2018born\u2019 from\u00a0public health officials\u00a0in handling the COVID-19 outbreak, alongside America\u2019s Dr Anthony Fauci and New Zealand\u2019s Dr Ashley Bloomfield.<\/p>\n

On\u00a0its website yesterday, CGTN<\/a> said it has crowned Dr Noor Hisham as one of the top doctors in the world for his\u00a0straightforward and calm approach in handling the COVID-19 outbreak in Malaysia.<\/p>\n

CGTN said that a few months ago hardly anybody knew of Dr Noor Hisham, 56, and the other two but they have now become the\u00a0most \u201ctrustable\u201d source of information and facts for the pandemic\u00a0in their own countries.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“Every time I see Health director-general Dr\u00a0Noor Hisham Abdullah, I feel reassured. The man has been a tower of strength for many Malaysians,” CGTN quoted\u00a0a local portal journalist as\u00a0saying, adding\u00a0that Dr Noor Hisham is also a “trusted face” and “a bulwark against confusion\u201d.<\/p>\n

According to CGTN,\u00a0 Fauci, 79, is the director of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAD) while Bloomfield, 54, is the director-general of health in New Zealand.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Health Minister\u00a0Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba congratulated Dr Noor Hisham for earning the recognition.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Dr Adham, in his latest\u00a0Facebook posting, said:\u00a0\u201cA great appreciation and honour for the country\u2019s medical sector when our Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah is recognised by\u00a0China Global Television Network as among the world\u2019s best three doctors in handling the COVID-19 situation.\u201d<\/p>\n
