Zafrul"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"col-sm-12 col-md-12 col-lg-12 mt-4 px-sm-0 px-md-5 px-lg-15 text-dark text-justify\">\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR, 14 April &#8211; The government has implemented six of the 10 main\u00a0measures under\u00a0the Prihatin Rakyat\u00a0Economic Stimulus Package (PRIHATIN) worth RM180 billion, or 69 per cent, of the whole package, until April 12, 2020, said Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz.<\/p>\n<p>He said they\u00a0were the RM100 billion banking institution loan moratorium, i-Lestari facility, namely\u00a0withdrawal of Account 2 of the Employee Provident Fund (EPF) worth RM40 billion, and a wage subsidy undertaken by the Social Security Organisation\u00a0(SOCSO) worth RM13.8 billion.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The measures also included\u00a0reducing the minimum employee contribution rate to the\u00a0EPF amounting to\u00a0RM10 billion, Bantuan PRIHATIN Nasional amounting to RM10 billion, and Bank Negara Malaysia&#8217;s Special Relief Fund worth RM5 billion,&#8221; he said in a\u00a0video broadcast on his Facebook today.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12 col-md-12 col-lg-12 mt-4 px-sm-0 px-md-5 px-lg-15 text-dark text-justify\">\n<p>Tengku Zafrul said the figures were\u00a0based\u00a0on a\u00a0report on the Implementation of the PRIHATIN package prepared by the\u00a0Economic Stimulus Implementation\u00a0&amp;\u00a0Coordination Unit\u00a0Between\u00a0National Agencies\u00a0(LAKSANA).<\/p>\n<p>LAKSANA\u00a0was formed by the Ministry of Finance (MoF) on March 16 to monitor the implementation of the PRIHATIN package\u00a0rolled out by the government to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 towards the country\u2019s economy and wellbeing of the people.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Tengku Zafrul said the remaining four measures worth RM66 billion, or 25 per cent of the total value of the PRIHATIN package, would be implemented by May 1, 2020, in line with the planned implementation schedule.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12 col-md-12 col-lg-12 mt-4 px-sm-0 px-md-5 px-lg-15 text-dark text-justify\">\n<p>The measures are Danajamin Nasional Bhd\u2019s\u00a0RM50 billion in loan guarantees to struggling companies seeking to raise funds for working capital and\u00a0the\u00a0EPF&#8217;s Employer Consultation Programme to\u00a0allow employers to postpone, restructure, or reschedule their mandatory contribution for employees that will provide\u00a0RM10 billion in cash flow savings for them.<\/p>\n<p>The others are awarding small-scale government projects worth RM4 billion to\u00a0small contractors and Special PRIHATIN grants for small and medium\u00a0enterprises (SMEs) worth RM2.1 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Tengku Zafrul said as at April 12, the MoF had allocated RM8.6 billion, or 25 per cent, of the total\u00a0additional expenditure under the PRIHATIN package to the relevant ministries and agencies.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12 col-md-12 col-lg-12 mt-4 px-sm-0 px-md-5 px-lg-15 text-dark text-justify\">\n<p>&#8220;There is still a lot of work to be done,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>He said that despite the Movement Control (CPP) order, the government would ensure that its machinery continues\u00a0to operate to ensure the continuation of the PRIHATIN Package measures, especially those that would contribute\u00a0to the welfare of the people and enhancement of the country&#8217;s economic activities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet us look\u00a0forward, I hope the people and SMEs who have not yet received the benefits provided, make an application immediately.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInsyaAllah, we will try our best to consider all the applications,&#8221;
